Saturday,
July 10th, kicks off the 15th annual Old Mill Bluegrass Festival in West
Liberty, which is a two day event. Over the past years, some of the
biggest names in the bluegrass music industry have graced the stage in Old
Mill Park - Dr. Ralph Stanley, Lonesome River Band, Mountain Heart, The
Dillards, Third Tyme Out, The Osborne Brothers, Larry Sparks, The Grascals
and others.
This year the Old Mill Festival Committee is excited and pleased to bring
Rhonda Vincent and the Rage to the stage as the headliner band. She
will be on hand for two shows on Saturday.

Rhonda is known for her outstanding, billowing voice and she has won the
International Bluegrass Achievement Award seven times. She also won
Female Vocalist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. She is a
master mandolin player as well. The Committee has tried for
several years to book her at the festival, but due to conflicting shedules,
had been unable to until this year. They anticipate the largest
crowd ever.
Many local bands will be performing as well, and church and civic groups
will have food booths, with much good food, including soup beans and corn
bread, fish sandwiches, charbroiled hamburgers and hotdogs, funnel cakes,
and much more! Moneys received go to people in need and to assist
sick children.
In addition to Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, other bands performing will
include Don Rigsby and Midnight Call, Clarence Kelly and NuCut Road, Cathy
Baker and Beracah Valley, Kati Penn Band, Billie Renee and Cumberland Gap,
Bluegrass Online, Bartley Brothers, Roland Dunn, East Kentucky Gospel
Boys, The Bluegrass Wranglers, Merle Peyton and After Midnight, Darrell
Winkleman and Mountain Echoes, and Gospel Witness (William Walter, Mark
Walter, Marvin Holbrook and David Wayne Nickell).
As in the past, thanks to the generosity to many organizations, businesses
and individuals, admission is free. There is no charge!
Old Mill Festival Committee members Lanny Franklin; chairman, Tike
Franklin, Danny Joe Gevedon, Clara Jackson, Quentin Murphy, Linda Patrick
and Bill Trusty extend an invitation to all to come, bring the family and
enjoy two days of great bluegrass music in beautiful Old Mill Park.
We can't wait to see you at this years 15th Annual Old Mill
Bluegrass Festival!!
