The world famous Kentucky Horse Park is 10 miles north of Lexington (I 75, exit 120). This is a working farm open to the public. It offers all kinds of information about horses. Here in Bluegrass, everything is horse-centered, and the horse park is a good first step in learning about the horse tradition in Kentucky.
There is a Visitor Center that shows films in the park and provides information on specific activities and activities. The Calumet International Horse Museum, with its trophy collection, gives a complete overview of the history and importance of the horse, while great racehorses are honored in the Hall of Champions. There is an interesting walk in the park that includes demonstrations of the crafts of blacksmiths, carriages, harness makers, and a purebred parade. Visitors can also go horseback riding and horse-drawn carriages. The Kentucky Horse Center is a training center for purebred animals.
