To find it, simply cross Monks Road (the main entrance road) and head north until you encounter a gap in the woods marked by a sign that reads “trail to statues.” The trail is an easily manageable approximately 2-mile out-and-back route that guides you through the woods initially, leading you to a pond where magnificent white lotuses bloom during the summer months. Ascending a set of stairs, you’ll reach a bluff that follows the ridge, passing religious sculptures and vibrant wildflowers.

As you draw near to the true sculptures, you’ll traverse an avenue of trees that unveils a modernist-style Mary statue with sleek lines. The trees give way to rolling hills, where you’ll step into another wooded expanse adorned with the Statues, portraying the Stations of the Cross.

Upon completing your hike, don’t miss the opportunity to procure a handcrafted mug from the Gethsemani Farms gift shop. Dive into the life of a monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani through a film that can be purchased or watched on-site.
